I have been trying to complete Yoga With Adriene’s “30 Day Yoga Challenge” for the past three years and I always fall off at Day 15 or Day 16 but I’m making it to day 30, this year. I figure the best way to hold myself accountable is to write daily posts about it, so here’s today’s post!
Today’s session, appropriately titled “Snuggle,” was a much-needed break for my tired arms. I really enjoyed focussing on my legs and being sprawled out on the mat. As I laid there, I sporadically thought about my day and how I didn’t do all of the things that I wanted to do. I could’ve done them all if it weren’t for this pesky little thing called procrastination. I don’t know what’s going on with me but I just be out here procrastinating on my personal goals.
I leaned into this nasty habit all 2020 and I think it’s because I was feeling burned out and needed a break. 2020 was the first time in four years that I wasn’t juggling a nine to five and a long-term freelance gig. I think I was so excited to only have one job (and not need to work every day of the week) that my mind was like, “Fuck everything!” 🤪 I’m committed to shedding this habit this year, though, because I have at least three skills that I would like to grow and I’m going to. I think 2021 is going to be a year of immense growth for me—mental growth, physical growth, career, alladat!
