I just finished reading my first book of the year, “The Last Graduate” by Naomi Novik (loved it — review coming soon!), and I’m excited to dive into the final book of the series. This year, I’m reading two books a month. Yep, I’m claiming it. I have at least 50 unread books in my collection and a growing list of books that are begging to come home with me. If I want to buy new books, I have to read the ones that I own. That’s what I keep reminding myself, but I fear I’m losing the battle because the books keep calling me, man. Lol! “Dungeon Crawler Carl” by Matt Dinniman is the latest series to tempt me. It follows Carl and his ex-girlfriend’s cat, Princess Donut, as they navigate an alien invasion and try to survive the end of the world. Sounds interesting, right? Ugh! I need the first book ASAP.

Testing out some new sticky notes and flags from an Etsy shop.

Anyways, I’ve stocked up on my annotation supplies, and I’m ready to hit the ground running with my 2026 reading goals. My primary goal is to enhance my reading comprehension and information retention. What’s one reading goal you’re working on this year? Also, what book are you most excited to read? Happy New Year and happy reading!
