I dove headfirst into Audre Lorde’s “The Cancer Journals” and couldn’t stop annotating. This quote, a 1979 entry, “Yet without community there is certainly no liberation, no future, only the most vulnerable and temporary armistice between me and my oppression,” sounds like she glanced out the window and decided to remind us that the only way through this administration is together. Lol! I can’t wait flip through the rest of the pages. I can’t wait to start reading all of my February books, honestly.
Here’s a little rundown of what I’m aiming to read this month: “One Piece, Volume 1: Romance Dawn” by Eiichiro Oda, “The Fire Next Time” by James Baldwin, “Bloodchild” by Octavia Butler, and “The 1619 Project” by Nikole Hannah-Jones.
