This Game is so Fucking Creepy

I finally downloaded Little Nightmares on my Nintendo Switch and I love this creepy ass game! I’m still trying to figure out what’s going on but all I know is: I’m a tiny kid (or thing) who wakes ups in a sketchy place. I don’t know if it’s a warehouse, a prison, or a mad scientist’s home but it’s pretty rundown and filled with giant slug things and gnomes. I feel like I’m in a horror movie. 😂

Anyways, let me go turn these lights off and play this game. Am I the only person who likes being creeped out by games and movies? 😬

What If the Associated Press Was In Charge of the Constitution?

I finally went ahead and ordered The Associated Press Stylebook 55th Edition (my previous version was from 2013) and the following thought popped into my head when I unpacked it: How nice would it be if “our” public officials updated the Constitution as often as The Associated Press updates its stylebook? The world changes and AP updates its stylebook. Why? Because our, for lack of a better word, things should adapt to our ever-changing world. Makes sense to me. 🤷🏾‍♀️

Australia, Y’all Got Toilet Spiders?

Just watched this 👇🏾 Tik Tok of someone saying, “Every Australian household has what is called a ‘toilet spider'” in the most casual tone. I thought they were about to introduce me to a new cleaning tool but no. This person is referring to an actual big ass spider. Talking about, “He keeps the more dangerous spiders away.” What. The. Fuck. I could NEVER.

The Girls Are Fraaaudiiiing!

The internet thiefs were thiefing the fuck out, y’all. As soon as I stepped into Whole Foods yesterday morning, I received a text from Chase Bank asking if I had tried to make a purchase for about $100 at a flower shop in California. (No. No, I did not.) I respond “NO,” as the message prompted me to and went on about my business. Hours later, I received a message about a one-time access code for my Chase Mobile Wallet from the email address olb.automatic. Sketchy, much? I immediately hopped on Google to see if that wallet thing existed, found out it’s real but still felt unsettled about the email address and the morning’s fraudulent activity, so I called up Chase.

Initially, the rep, in a panic, told me not to open the email (I had already opened it) because it wasn’t from them but they eventually confirmed that it was by reading the email off to me. About five minutes after that, something told me to check my debit card (yesterday morning’s text was about my credit card, by the way) and lo and behold: the frauds were frauding over there too. One “Netflix” charge and some other random charge later and both of my cards are cancelled. *Deep negro spiritual sigh* Dis tew much.

Luckily, I still have access to my funds, so it’s not the end of the world. I just don’t understand how this happened to both cards on the same day. I only used my debit card to pay bills and get groceries. Have those companies been hacked? Ion know. I locked my credit in case the thief felt like elevating, though.

How y’all doin’?

A Random Illustration

Just popping in to share this illustration! I genuinely don’t know what I’m doing with this Wacom tablet but I’m enjoying the journey of figuring it out. This Game Boy Advance illustration is the first piece of art that I really tried to make with my tablet. I’ve created other things, of course, but I really tried with this one and I’m so happy with the outcome. I created it based off of a reference photo with the Pen tool in Illustrator. What do you think?

30 Day Yoga Challenge | Diary Entry for the Final Week!

I have been trying to complete Yoga With Adriene’s “30 Day Yoga Challenge” for the past three years and I always fall off at Day 15 or Day 16 but I’m making it to day 30, this year. I figure the best way to hold myself accountable is to write daily posts about it, so here’s today’s post!

After years of trying and failing miserably, I finally completed Adriene’s “30 Day Yoga Challenge” and bitch, I’m happy. I am so proud of myself for sticking to my first commitment to myself of the year and blogging about it. I intended to blog every day but, after a while, I just didn’t feel like doing it. Blogging about the challenge started to feel like a boring chore, hence, the reason why I started clumping days together. I had also gotten to the point where I didn’t need to blog to hold myself accountable. (Aaeooow! Go me!)

Here are five things that I noticed/realized during this challenge:

  1. Yoga helps me sleep. I slept so well this month. I mean, sure, my sleeping schedule was out of wack every now and then and I had trouble going to sleep at my desired time but when I got to sleep, though? I sleeeept. My body was so relaxed.
  2. She lookin’ kinda snatched. The booty is lifted, the thighs and calves are tighter, and the belly? Oh, she gettin’ there.
  3. I’m more aware of my body. Since starting this challenge, I have been hyperaware of when my shoulders are sitting up high and when my body is idle in an uncomfortable position. This realization may sound silly but I bet if you paid attention to your body right now, you’d notice that your legs are bunched up or in an awkward position (even though you have mad space to stretch out).
  4. It’s helpful to write things down. I’m pretty sure that blogging religiously at the beginning set the foundation for me to complete the challenge. Writing about it made it real and attainable.
  5. I actually do have time. I have time to work out; time to take a nap; time to think about nothing; time to practice my hobbies; time to pursue my goals; and just… time. There is always time to make time for myself.

P.S. I have no idea why this list starts at zero instead of one on mobile. 🥴

30 Day Yoga Challenge | Diary Entry’s #22 and #23

I have been trying to complete Yoga With Adriene’s “30 Day Yoga Challenge” for the past three years and I always fall off at Day 15 or Day 16 but I’m making it to day 30, this year. I figure the best way to hold myself accountable is to write daily posts about it, so here’s today’s post!

One more week to go and the challenge is over! I’m planning to join Keaira Lashae‘s virtual gym at IfYouCanMove.com and take on a new challenge next month but I won’t be blogging about it. I think I’m going to record it, so I can see my progress and create one of those cool timelapse-ish videos. Also, I’m ready to get back to my usual random blog posts and visuals (I don’t know about y’all but I’m tired of this galaxy photo lol).

Crap! I just realized that I didn’t read up on Biden’s cabinet or the Executive Orders that he signed last week. I told myself that I would dedicate time to educate myself this weekend but… Where did the time go? I really want to stay on top of this administration and prioritize being informed because, honestly, I can’t tell you which Senator supported what or when. I’m going to challenge myself to take a deeper dive into politics this year and look into the laws and whatever else is passed by this administration. It’s not enough for me to know that something happened; I also need to know why it happened.

30 Day Yoga Challenge | Diary Entry’s #20 and #21

I have been trying to complete Yoga With Adriene’s “30 Day Yoga Challenge” for the past three years and I always fall off at Day 15 or Day 16 but I’m making it to day 30, this year. I figure the best way to hold myself accountable is to write daily posts about it, so here’s today’s post!

The past two sessions were MUCH needed. My body has been feeling a little tight, despite stretching every day. Hmm… Well, I did carry a bunch of groceries the other day, so maybe that’s why I’m tight. Anyways, it’s amazing how much my body has transformed this month. My upper body is stronger, my legs look more toned, my belly is slimmer, and my back rolls ain’t rollin’ so much. Y’all were this 🤏🏾 close to getting a #bussitchallenge from me (and still might get one).

30 Day Yoga Challenge | Diary Entry’s #18 and #19

I couldn’t be bothered with blogging yesterday, so I’m giving you another twofer. Nothing new to report. Well, actually, I’ve noticed that the sessions have felt like tasks every night, over the past few days. At first I thought that I was getting bored with the challenge but I think it has more to do with my lack of sleep. I really need to get more sleep. I don’t know what’s up with me but my sleeping pattern is still off. Something’s got to give because I don’t want to be walking around with luxury bags under my eyes. Well, off to bed I go! ✌🏾

We spent all or at least most (I can’t remember) of yesterday’s session on the floor with our legs crossed, which felt good but it was pretty boring. I didn’t feel like blogging about it, so I’m combining it with today’s post. Today was all about the arms and I loved it. I can’t believe how much stronger my arms are now; I can almost do a push up without collapsing.

Anyways, Happy MLK Day! I searched for an MLK quote to end this post with but decided against sharing one because I ain’t on that “two wrongs don’t make a right” shit right now.

30 Day Yoga Challenge | Diary Entry #15

Not much to say about day 15; it came and went. Before yesterday’s session, I Googled “smiling black lady,” found this cute pic on 123rf.com, and decided to try my hand at a flat lay (I think that’s what this style is called). It’s cute or whataeva! I need to figure or why the text looks so blurry.

As Adriene said, we’re almost at the halfway mark! I’m so excited that I’m sticking to this goal but I’m also a little creeped out by how fast this month is going by. It’ll be march again before we know it. Anyways, I did another doodle. This time, I tried to see if I could recreate the layout of one of my text threads. I was going to do the entire thread but got tired and said, “Meh!” I think it looks pretty good for my first try. I’m always amazed by how good I am at learning how to do creative things. Like, is the sky even my limit?
