It’s a new year, a new day, and a new 30-day yoga challenge by Yoga With Adriene is here. I’ve tried to complete Adriene’s challenges several times over the years but last year was my first time actually succeeding. Blogging about it each day REALY helped me hold myself accountable, so we’re doing that again. Welcome to the new challenge, y’all! (I’m amped.) Oh, I got a little crafty and created several graphics to accompany the posts — juu liiike it? The illustration is based off of lerarelart’s on 123rf.com.
Is it just me or is this month flying by? I’m not complaining, though; I can’t wait to start my part-time hours at work in Feb. Speaking of work, I’ve been tasked with writing a bunch of articles by next week (at least five, I think) and I’m not feeling that. I’m not interested in writing articles and I definitely expressed that during my interview. I distinctively remember my supervisor saying “We already have a strong group of writers. What we’re looking for is someone to take on the more visual aspects of communications.” That is the sole reason why I accepted the position.
I just want to create. Why is it so hard for employers to be honest about what they want? She also told me that I would be backup for really busy times that she described as “rare.” Should I have taken that to mean she was basically going to have me write often? Maybe. I don’t know. I feel like employers should just be honest. Jobs always accept me for one position but then have me do other things that I am capable of doing. This is only my second week working there, so maybe I’m getting ahead of myself. We’ll see.
